Aerial Application Solutions
Aerial Application Capabilities:
Our UAV operations are suited for a wide range of environments and application requirements. Every operation is assessed to ensure the method, product, and application strategy are appropriate for the conditions and desired outcome. The following application types represent the most common and effective uses of drone-based aerial application across agricultural environments:
Broadcast Application:
Product applied uniformly across entire selected area at a consistent application rate Best suited when: The target pest present across entire area, requiring consistent and even coverage.
Targeted Application (Spot Spraying):
Product only applied in specific, identified areas within the field where target weed, pest, or condition is present, reducing chemical usage and application costs Best suited when: Target pest or issue is localised, and broadcast application of entire field or paddock would be inefficient and unnecessary.
Variable Rate Application:
Application rate adjusted dynamically across treatment area based on prescription maps, agronomic data, and operational inputs while maintaining continuous coverage. Best suited when: Field conditions and crop requirements vary across treatment area and adjustments to application rates optimise efficiency and crop performance.
Our aerial application services employ purpose built agricultural UAV to precisely distribute liquid or granular product, minimizing soil compaction during farming operations and providing cost effective application methods.
Target Landscapes:
We service a range of varying landscapes and offer application services in some of the most challenging environments. Use case scenarios include:
Row / Broadacre crops
Orchards / Vineyards
Bushlands / Forests
Pastures / Paddocks
Aquaculture Ponds
Riparian Areas
We are equipped to service areas varying in topographical complexity from steep, rugged terrain to hillsides and forested areas.
Liquid and Granular Solutions:
Our UAV platforms are equipped to apply a wide range of liquid and granule products, including by not limited to:
IMPORTANT: If different product variations or spray rates are required for specialty applications that are not incorporated within the product label, APVMA approval may be required.
Liquid:
Herbicides
Fungicides
Insecticides
Growth Regulators
Liquid Fertilisers and Nutrients
Granular:

Frequently Asked Questions:
-
We determine our pricing based on the type of application, categorised as either broadcast/variable rate or spot spraying. Broadcast and variable rate jobs are charged per hectare, starting at a base rate of $48/ha, while spot spraying is billed per hour at a standard rate of $250/hour, all costs included. This approach allows us to standardise pricing, ensuring consistent and fair rates for all jobs, regardless of paddock or field differences.
-
During the quotation and planning stage, we assess the application site’s proximity to local aerodromes and sensitive areas. We also review the product to be applied and its distribution parameters according to the label. For custom off-label applications, APVMA approval is required. The site is then inspected for obstacles and target areas to ensure safe and effective application.
-
We manage spray drift and environmental risk by carefully planning each job around weather conditions, terrain, and proximity to sensitive areas. Meteorological factors (e.g. wind, rain, inversions) are taken into consideration and strict limits are engrained within our operations to minimise unwanted environmental impacts. Operators are trained to apply chemicals precisely and safely, so you don’t have to worry about unintended impacts. It’s one less thing for you to manage on your farm.
-
We ensure consistent application results by carefully planning each job and using precision drone technology. Our drones follow GPS and RTK-guided flight paths, maintaining accurate speed, altitude, and swath overlap to deliver even coverage across the entire area. We also calibrate our equipment for each product and application type and perform pre-flight inspections to verify spraying or spreading systems are functioning correctly. This combination of careful planning, technology, and monitoring ensures reliable and uniform results every time.

To ensure each job is planned, compliant, and executed correctly, the following paddock or field details are required prior to commencement of any spray operations:
Total application area (hectares)
Product to be applied
Application rate (litres or kilograms per hectare)
Target pest or purpose of application
Surrounding terrain and known obstacles (trees, powerlines, structures, slopes)
Type of application required (targeted, broadcast, or variable rate)
Property location
Number of paddocks or fields involved
Proximity to sensitive areas (waterways, neighbouring crops, residences, exclusion zones)
Operation type (liquid or granular application)
Providing this information upfront allows us to assess suitability, manage risk, confirm compliance, and deliver consistent results without delays or assumptions.
-
Our operators work to strict regulatory, safety, and application standards, following documented procedures that ensure every job is planned, executed, and completed in compliance with aviation, chemical use, and industry best practice requirements. We hold ourselves accountable to ensure every detail is addressed and take pride in delivering professional, reliable service across North Queensland.

In some cases, a particular application method may not be the most efficient or effective for a given paddock. Factors such as paddock size, layout, crop stage, and application objectives can influence which approach delivers the best outcome. We will assess whether the job can be carried out safely, accurately, and compliantly, and if it cannot, we will recommend delaying or adjusting the approach rather than delivering a poor or risky outcome. Our role is to recognise when a job suits a particular method and to avoid applying any approach where it does not deliver the best outcome. There are situations where operational, regulatory, or logistical considerations may affect how and when a drone application can be completed, including:
Regulatory or label constraints prevent the application from being carried out as intended.
Application rates exceed practical delivery limits.
Fields bordering major airports or certified aerodromes – Operations in these locations are subject to additional airspace approvals and coordination requirements. While this does not prevent drone application, the extended approval timeframes can delay mobilisation. In cases where timeliness is critical, a ground-based application may offer a faster and more cost-effective solution.
Restricted chemicals near waterways or reef catchments – Additional regulatory controls and buffers may apply. While drone application may still be possible, compliance requirements can extend preparation time, and in some cases another application method may be more time-efficient.
